Our Dental Hygiene Oral Assessment Process
During your initial visit at APX, our hygienist will conduct a thorough dental hygiene oral health assessment:
- Starting by reviewing and clarifying your medical and dental intake forms.
- Following this, the hygienist will perform an extraoral assessment of the head and neck regions before starting on the intraoral assessment and completing the probing depth portion.
- During the intraoral assesment, the hygienist charts your dental history, screen for oral and caries risk, and complete probing perio-exam depths.
- Once these oral health assessment is complete, then the hygienist and present the findings and discuss a treatment with you (the client).
Note: Should the hygienist find anything that is supicious in your oral health she will make a referral to your dentist or a dental professional (should you not have one)
